Instructions

  1. In a bowl, combine flour, sugar, salt and baking powder.
  2. Cut in shortening and butter until mixture resembles coarse meal.
  3. Set aside 1/2 cup of the mixture of the crumb topping.
  4. In a seaprate bowl, beat eggs.
  5. Stir in milk, vanilla and orange peel until well-mixed.
  6. Beat in flour mixture until blended.
  7. Turn batter into a greased 8-inch square pan.
  8. Batter will be runny.
  9. Top with crumb topping.
  10. Bake at 350 for 35-40 minutes or until tester comes otu clean.
  11. Serve warm or cold.
