Instructions

  1. Cream butter with 1 cup sugar. Add the egg yolks; sift flour together with baking powder. Add to mixture.
  2. Stir well and add 1/2 tsp vanilla. Pat this mixture into a 9x9 inch cake pan.
  3. Sprinkle with nuts.
  4. Beat egg whites very stiff and beat in the second cup of brown sugar and 1/2 stp vanilla. Spread over the top of the nuts.
  5. Bake in 350F oven for 30 minutes.
  6. Cool.
  7. Cut in squares to serve.
