Instructions

  1. Heat oven to 350°F.
  2. Cream together brown sugar, shortening, and granulated sugar; add water, eggs, and vanilla: beat well.
  3. Add combined oats, flour, salt, and baking soda: mix well.
  4. Drop dough by rounded teaspoonfuls onto ungreased cookie sheets.
  5. Bake 11-13 minutes until edges are golden brown.
  6. Remove to wire rack; cool completely.
  7. Store tightly covered.
