Instructions

  1. Mix together the shortening, sugar, and molasses.
  2. Next, add egg and beat completely.
  3. Combine all dry ingredients and add to the creamed ingredients--using 1/2 cup increments.
  4. Beat well after each addition.
  5. Refrigerate the dough until cold.
  6. Roll out until the dough is about 1/4 inch thick.
  7. Use cookie cutters to form the figures.
  8. Place in a 350° oven and bake for 10 - 12 minutes.
