Instructions

  1. Cream butter and sugar.
  2. Mix in flour and salt completely, then the oatmeal.
  3. Press 1/2 the dough into a greased Pyrex dish.
  4. Place the apples over dough and sprinkle with raisins and spices.
  5. Boil the syrup ingredients together for 5 minutes.
  6. Pour syrup over apples.
  7. Cover apple mixture with remaining dough.
  8. Bake at 350F for 55 minutes.
  9. Serve with whipped cream if so desired.
